Standardizing common components of computer-interpretable guideline models

I conducted a collaborative study that compares six guideline-modeling methodologies, developed in the US and in Europe, by using real clinical guideline examples. The goal was to find commonalties among the models and use them to define standard components of guideline models. We began to develop several standard components as part of the activities of the Health Level Seven standards development organization (ANSI-accredited).
